Opuntia Pads (Prickly Pear)

Opuntia Pads are a great natural food for a range of species such as Tortoises, Bearded Dragons, Iguanas, Chameleons, Uromastyx and more! Not only is it a food eaten naturally by many reptiles in the wild (particularly Mediterranean and desert species), but it is naturally high in moisture and so aids hydration. Opuntia also contains a very high level of Calcium, as well as having a great Calcium:Phosphorous ratio.

While some animals are more than happy to chew on a whole piece of prickly pear, it is often worth cutting into smaller chunks.

Weights are all approximate and are rounded to the nearest 100g and smaller pieces may be cut to size, rather than entire pads.
