Begonia Maculata

Description

The Begonia Maculata, or Polka Dot Plant, is one of the most striking of Begonia species

Begonia are colorful plants include hundreds of hybrids that come in many varieties that are often chosen more for their leaf color than insignificant blossoms.  They prefer shaded but humid conditions with rich soil.  They tend to rot in soggy soil, so keep them well drained.

Since it does well in moist, humid conditions, Begonia Maculata does well in a vivarium and will create a nice thick foliage that can be placed in the middle-back areas of the tank.  Their broad leaves allow many creatures to take cover underneath.
